The Florida Bar Foundation congratulates Janet Varnell on being named The Florida Bar Consumer Protection Law Committee Lawyer of the Year. Varnell was presented the award, which recognizes a legal services, public interest or private attorney whose special contributions to the practice of consumer law have strengthened and affirmed the rights of consumers in Florida, on November 1, 2019.

Varnell’s Lady Lake firm works in complex consumer litigation. She travels the state to work on large impact cases involving payday lenders, illegal loans, illegal debt collection actions and motor vehicle financing. She has co-counseled with many legal services attorneys to stretch the reach of their resources and to act as a mentor.
