Miami attorney Patricia Acosta appointed to Florida Bar Foundation board

Patricia-AcostaMAITLAND, Fla. — Miami attorney Patricia Acosta has been appointed by The Florida Bar to the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.

Acosta chaired The Florida Bar’s Media & Communications Law Committee from 2012-2014 and has served as a member of the American Bar Association’s First Amendment and Litigation Committee as well as its Forum Committee on Communications Law. She specializes in complex business litigation and First Amendment litigation.

As a long-time advocate for the legal rights of the working poor, Acosta has received numerous awards recognizing her commitment to public service and outstanding pro bono legal representation.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science with honors from Florida International University and a juris doctorate degree from The University of Miami School of Law.

Acosta’s three-year term on the Florida Bar Foundation board began July 1.
