Miami attorney David B. Rothman takes office as second vice president of The Florida Bar Foundation

MAITLAND, Fla. —Miami attorney David B. Rothman took office July 1 as second vice president of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.

Rothman, a partner in Rothman & Associates, P.A., practices federal and state criminal defense and represents lawyers in Bar cases. He earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida.

Rothman served for more than a decade on The Florida Bar Board of Governors, was president of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and is immediate past chair of the Criminal Law Section of The Florida Bar. He also served as president of the Miami-Dade County Bar Association from 1997-98. In 2007, he led “Put More Back,” a two-year campaign to boost attorney pro bono hours in Miami-Dade County. He also serves on the board of the Innocence Project of Florida, a Florida Bar Foundation grantee.

Rothman, a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow, began his term July 1.
