Attorney Ashley Sybesma to serve on Florida Bar Foundation board

Key West attorney Ashley Sybesma has been appointed by The Florida Supreme Court to a three-year term on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice. Her term begins July 1, 2018.

Sybesma is a senior associate for Smith Hawks, PL, focusing her practice in the areas of commercial litigation, immigration, land use, construction defect, and product liability. She served on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors from 2011 to 2016. In 2018, she received The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award.

Sybesma received her bachelor’s from Florida Atlantic University and her juris doctor from the University of Miami, where she was the Zuckerman Spaeder Fellow in the Center for Ethics and Public Service. Sybesma is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow.

The Florida Bar Foundation accomplishes its mission by funding programs that expand and improve representation and advocacy on behalf of low-income persons in civil legal matters, improve the fair and effective administration of justice, and promote public service among lawyers.
