Attorney Douglas M. Halsey reappointed to Florida Bar Foundation Board

Douglas-HalseyORLANDO — Miami attorney Douglas M. Halsey has been reappointed by The Florida Bar to serve on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organizations that works on behalf of Florida’s legal profession to expand access to justice.

Halsey, a partner in the Miami office of White & Case LLP, began his three-year term July 1. He has served on the Foundation’s Development, Finance & Audit committee and Legal Assistance for the Poor/Law Student Assistance grant committee.

Halsey, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his law degree from the University of Miami, practices environmental and land use law. He is a former chairman of The Florida Bar’s environment and land use law section.

For over 25 years, Halsey has represented foster children in Florida, and has played a lead role in securing therapeutic services for emotionally disturbed and developmentally disabled children in foster care. He is a past chairman of the Children’s Home Society of Florida, a founder of Foster Care Review, and a former board member of Our Kids of Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.

A fellow of the American Bar Foundation and The Florida Bar Foundation, Halsey is a past recipient of The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award.
