Attorney Jewel White

MAITLAND, Fla. – Clearwater attorney Jewel White will take office July 1 as president of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.

As chief assistant county attorney with the Pinellas County Attorney’s Office, White has practiced in the areas of environmental and land use law, elections law and numerous other areas related to local government. She is board certified in City, County & Local Government law. She received the 2016 Claude Pepper Outstanding Government Lawyer Award from The Florida Bar Government Lawyer Section.

White is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at the College of Architecture and her law degree at the College of Law.

She is a former member of the Florida Supreme Court/Florida Bar Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services and former member of The Florida Bar Board of Governors. She has served as president of The Florida Bar Young Lawyer’s Division, president of the Clearwater Bar Association, and a director of the Clearwater Bar Foundation. She has served on the Foundation’s strategic planning, grants, executive, nominating, and grant allocation committees, chaired its development committee, and served as vice-chair of its finance and audit committee. She is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow.

Throughout her career, White has dedicated time to public service projects, including participating in the discussion that lead to the publication of the 2007 report, “Pro Bono: Looking Back, Moving Forward.”
