MAITLAND, Fla. – Clearwater attorney Jewel White will take office July 1 as president-elect of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.

An attorney with the Pinellas County Attorney’s Office, White practices in the area of elections law and has a board certification in City, County & Local Government law. She received the 2016 Claude Pepper Outstanding Government Lawyer Award from The Florida Bar Government Lawyer Section.

White is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s in sociology, a master’s in urban and regional planning at the College of Architecture and her law degree at the College of Law.

White is a former member of the Florida Supreme Court/Florida Bar Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services and former member of The Florida Bar Board of Governors. She has served as president of The Florida Bar Young Lawyer’s Division, president of the Clearwater Bar Association, and a director of the Clearwater Bar Foundation. She is currently a member of The Florida Bar Foundation’s strategic planning, grants, executive, nominating, and grant allocation committees. White is also the chair of the Foundation’s development committee and vice-chair of its finance and audit committee.

Throughout her career, White has dedicated time to public service projects and pro bono work. She participated in the discussion leading up to the publication of the 2007 report, “Pro Bono: Looking Back, Moving Forward.” She chaired the Gold E. Locks versus the Three Bears Trials and the Holidays in January project, both sponsored by the Clearwater Bar Association.

White is a Fellow of The Florida Bar Foundation, a member of the Foundation’s Bronze Society for lifetime giving and has chaired its development committee.
