Attorney Karen M. Buesing to serve on The Florida Bar Foundation board

Attorney Karen M. Buesing

MAITLAND, Fla. – Tampa attorney Karen Buesing has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization with the mission of providing greater access to justice.

A partner with Akerman LLP, Buesing has counseled and represented management in employment law matters for more than 30 years. She is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Labor and Employment law. She has represented employers, large and small, in litigation matters before local, state, and federal agencies, state and federal courts, and arbitration panels. Buesing is a Fellow of the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

A longtime pro bono advocate, Buesing has received numerous awards recognizing her commitment to public service and outstanding pro bono legal representation, including the Florida Supreme Court Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award, The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award and the James R. Kyres Pro Bono Service Award. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications with high honors and her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College Of Law with honors. She is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow.

Buesing begins her three-year term July 1.
