As the statewide development director for The Florida Bar Foundation Donna Marino is responsible for leading the strategic planning and implementation of all of the Foundation’s giving programs. This includes the Fellows program, annual giving, major gifts and planned giving. The Florida Bar Foundation provides greater access to justice in Florida through strategic grantmaking and investments in assessment, training, technology and technical assistance to help grantees build capacity and operate efficiently and effectively.
Donna’s work helps the Foundation provide funding that links 28 legal services programs statewide to form a comprehensive, statewide delivery system. She is experienced in advisory board management, capital campaigns, annual campaigns, major gift solicitation and planned giving. Her enthusiastic, inspired and creative approach contributes to the success of the Foundation’s philanthropic objectives.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 2014, Donna spent seven years advocating for access to education at the Valencia Foundation and with Valencia College as part of the college and community relations team.
In September 2009, Donna was awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive designation and later obtained her certificate in proposal writing from Rollins College’s Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. Donna serves on the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International Foundation Board, was President of Central Florida AFP and staffed the funding subcommittee for Florida’s Commission on Access to Civil Justice.
She is currently a member of the Southeastern Council of Foundations and has presented at local AFP events and at the national Management Information Exchange for Legal Aid fundraising conference.
Donna has a master’s in business administration from Belhaven University, a bachelor’s in business management from the University of Central Florida and an associate’s degree from Valencia College.
