As director of communications for The Florida Bar Foundation, Jessica Brown is responsible for overseeing the organization’s branding, media relations, publications, social media and website. She works to increase public awareness of the Foundation, its mission and its impact to generate support for the civil legal needs of Floridians who cannot afford an attorney. She ensures consistent and effective messaging from Foundation management, board members and partners, while supporting the communications needs of the development, grants and pro bono departments.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 2017, Jessica managed marketing and operations for Hospice University, an online educational platform for hospice professionals. She also worked as senior communications coordinator for Hospice of the Comforter, one of the largest nonprofit hospices in the country, where she advocated for hospice care by producing media kits and marketing plans, maintaining its website and chairing its Employee Charitable Fund.
Jessica graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s of science in public relations. As a student, she served as a director of Gator Growl and vice president of Kappa Delta sorority, and worked in the Gators’ sports information office. She is an active volunteer in her local community, most recently serving as a PTA president.
