Miami attorney David B. Rothman takes office as first Vice President of The Florida Bar Foundation

david b rothman headshotMAITLAND, Fla. – Miami attorney David B. Rothman will take office July 1 as first vice president of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.

Founder and partner of Rothman & Associates, P.A., Rothman practices federal and state criminal defense law and handles Bar defense cases. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s and law degrees at the University of Florida.

Rothman served on The Florida Bar Board of Governors for over a decade, as president of Miami-Dade County Bar Association and Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 1997-1998 and 2000-2001, respectively, and as a criminal law lecturer for The Florida Bar Bridge the Gap Seminars in 1989-1995. He is immediate past president of the Criminal Law Section of The Florida Bar. Rothman has been serving as a member of the board of the Innocence Project of Florida, a grantee of the Foundation, since 2007.

He currently serves on the Foundation’s grant, development, grant allocation, and executive committees. Rothman was previously a member of its investment committee and vice-chair of its law student assistance program.

Rothman is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow and a member of the Foundation’s Gold Society for lifetime giving.
