MAITLAND, Fla. – As president-elect of The Florida Bar, Miami attorney Michael J. Higer will serve as a designated director on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.
Higer is a partner of Berger Singerman’s dispute resolution team, where he practices in the areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property, insurance and civil trial work. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree with honors from the University of Miami School of Law.
Higer has been a member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors since 2008 and currently serves on the executive committee. He is a former chair of The Florida Bar Business Law Section, which recognized him as its Outstanding Member in 2005.
Higer, who is also a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow, begins his term July 1.
