Rothman receives 2017 President’s Award for Excellence

Florida Bar Foundation First Vice President David B. Rothman has received the 2017 President’s Award for Excellence. Rothman has served on the Foundation’s board since 2011 and previously served on The Florida Bar Board of Governors for more than a decade. He is a past president of the Dade County Bar Association and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and past chair of the Criminal Law Section of The Florida Bar.

He has been a member of the board of the Innocence Project of Florida, a Florida Bar Foundation grantee, since 2007. Rothman has served on the Foundation’s grants, development, executive and investment committees and as vice-chair of its Law Student Assistance grant program committee.

He has contributed wise counsel, innovative ideas and spirited discussion to the board, always acting out of sincere concern for the Foundation’s mission and stewardship. He is a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow and a member of the Foundation’s Gold Society for lifetime giving. Founder and partner of Rothman and Associates, P.A., in Miami, Rothman practices federal and state criminal defense laws and handles Bar defense cases. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law.
