Tallahassee attorney Daniel H. Thompson begins term on Florida Bar Foundation board

Dan-ThompsonMAITLAND, Fla. —Tallahassee attorney Daniel H. Thompson has been appointed by the Florida Supreme Court to a three-year term on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice.

Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his law degree, with honors, from the Florida State University College of Law.

A shareholder with Berger Singerman, Thompson is on the firm’s government and regulatory team and specializes in resolving clients’ concerns involving governmental regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis on environmental and land use issues. He is board certified in state and federal government and administrative practice and is a former member of the executive council of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section of The Florida Bar. Prior to joining Berger Singerman, he served as deputy secretary of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

Thompson has served as president of the Legal Aid Foundation of the Tallahassee Bar Association and as president of Florida Legal Services. He is president of the board of trustees of the Apalachee Land Conservancy, Tallahassee area director of the Yale Alumni Schools Committee and a member of the Florida Legal Services board. He was a designated director of The Florida Bar Foundation from 2011-2013.

A Florida Bar Foundation Fellow, Thompson began his new term on the board July 1.
